Wells next the Sea

Wells-next-the-Sea is a popular seaside resort which has a working quay where fishermen continue their trade. It is also very popular with private boat owners who moor up alongside the marina. There are boat trips to see the seals who have a colony a little further along the coast.

On the quayside the local pastime of ‘gullying’ is practised with the young and old alike. Wells has many opportunities for artists to sketch or paint as well as beautiful walks for those walking their dogs or taking a family outing to absorb the beautiful scenery or for those who are walkers and like to walk the coastal paths.

There are many stately homes in the area to visit including Sandringham Royal Park and a little closer to home, Holkham Hall, just 2 miles away.

Attractions (Displays, exhibits, rides etc.)
Wells has a Carnival in the first week of August each year lasting for one whole week with daily attractions for young and old. The Maltings, in the main street host a variety of craft fairs that run throughout the year where one can buy many a gift for those family members that can cause many a headache if left to the last minute. It is also host to the Christmas Panto and many plays and evenings of entertainment. Wells Carnival Website
