Introduction
We aim to cater for the needs of all our visitors, in our home based, two bed roomed bed and breakfast. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to all us and we will endeavour to help. With regret, we are unable to accommodate young children or animals.
Pre-Arrival
The nearest main railway station is King’s Lynn which is a distance of 26 miles, or Norwich 35 miles.
Local transport is reasonable and we have a very good local Coast Hopper bus service.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
Tamarix is located on the north side of Burnt Street. Coming from Fakenham, turn right at the bottom of the hill into Burnt Street. Tamarix is about 400 metres on the left just past the Fire Station located to the right.
There is ample off road private parking on a level surface with paving and gravel. There is one step up to the front door.
We are happy to assist you with your luggage.
Main Entrance
The front door has one step measuring 13.5 cm high x 180cm long
There is a hallway of 210cm x 200cm
We have stairs to both of the first floor bedrooms which are 82cm wide x 25cm high. There are 7 steps to a half landing then a further 7 steps to the top.
Public Areas
Room 1 is a twin bedded room with an en-suite shower room
Room 2 is a double bedded room with an en-suite shower room
Public WCs
A small WC (not suitable for wheelchairs) is in the entrance area on the same level as the entrance.
Dining Room
Breakfast is served in the dining room. There are no steps.
We have a large dining table with a height of 76 cms with legs on each corner. Chairs can be moved to accommodate.
We do not play background music in any area of the B&B.
Laundry
Use of our utility room – please ask us.
Shops
Wells is a thriving small seaside town with good facilities, a library, chemist, small supermarket and many others including art shops, galleries and cafes.
Outdoor Facilities
Wells-next-the-Sea is a popular seaside resort which has a working quay where fishermen continue their trade. It is also very popular with private boat owners who moor up alongside the marina.
There are boat trips to see the seals who have a colony a little further along the coast.
On the quayside the local pastime of ‘gullying’ is practised with the young and old alike.
Wells has many opportunities for artists to sketch or paint as well as beautiful walks for those walking their dogs or taking a family outing to absorb the beautiful scenery or for those who are walkers and like to walk the coastal paths.
There are many stately homes in the area to visit including Sandringham Royal Park and a little closer to home, Holkham Hall, just 2 miles away.

Bedroom 1 twin bedded room on first floor with fitted shortpile carpet.
Ensuite shower room.
Dressing table with comfy chair.
Fitted wardrobe with sliding drawers and fitted cupboard.
Flat screen TV with digital freeview, also radio alarm clock and hairdryer.
Tea/coffee making facilities with cordless kettle and hospitality tray.
Bedroom 2 as bedroom 1 but with double bed.
Attractions (Displays, exhibits, rides etc.)
Wells has a Carnival in the first week of August each year lasting for one whole week with daily attractions for young and old.
The Maltings, in the main street host a variety of craft fairs that run throughout the year where one can buy many a gift for those family members that can cause many a headache if left to the last minute. It is also host to the Christmas Panto and many plays and evenings of entertainment.
There are many galleries in and around Wells as this area is very popular with artists.
A short distance away is the small village of Walsingham that is home to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. Here we have the two main Anglican and Roman Catholic places of pilgrimage with great historical significance.
There are many surrounding towns and villages that host Farmers Markets and various other markets.

There is a Citizens Advice Bureau situated next to The Maltings.
There are many restaurants and public houses that have a good reputation for quality.
We have a miniature train that runs every 20 minutes in the Summer from the quay to the beach so you can leave your car here.
